"Some people are natural born seamen.
You can tell that by the way they move on a small craft.
Others are clod-hoppers, and I have nothing but admiration
when these people eventually, patiently, turn themselves
A good seaman, when he boards another vessel,
has his eyes everywhere - at the comfort or lack of it, at the gadgets and fancy gear.
But he's watching the rigging the deck fittings, the way the gear is stowed,
the way the wires are spliced, and the lines coiled.
Whatever he does, he is always learning."
Tristan Jones, One Hand for Yourself, One for the Ship
